Terms & Conditions for SSCV Eagle County & Colorado Subsidy Eligibility
Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization; it is also one of the oldest charitable organizations in the Vail Valley. As a non-profit organization, SSCV raises approximately 1/3 of its annual operating budget through fundraising events, competitions, grants and tax-deductible donations. The remaining 2/3 of the budget is income earned from program fees goes directly to SSCV’s operating costs. Additionally, SSCV relies heavily upon the generosity of hundreds of volunteers who give thousands of hours to help with fundraising and all kinds of club tasks and events.
In recognition that SSCV draws the majority of its support from the local community and throughout the state of Colorado, financial subsidies are offered to residents of Eagle County, Colorado, as well as residents of the State of Colorado. The subsidies act as a discount to the programs and help offset the real cost of program fees. In exchange for this privilege, the Eagle County and Colorado Program Fee Subsidies are linked directly to SSCV Volunteer Requirements.
All families receiving subsidies are responsible for completing a certain number of “Volunteer Points”. Volunteer Points are earned by completing volunteer jobs, and these jobs are assigned a specific number of points based upon difficulty and time needed for completion. SSCV requires each family to complete a predetermined amount of volunteering based upon the programs in which they are involved. The number of points required per family is based upon the athlete’s program (and in the case of multiple athletes, it will be the program in which the most time-committed athlete participates). (Please see specific requirements below.) There are numerous opportunities, both on and off the snow, throughout the year from May 1 – April 30.
Failure to complete the points required will result in the loss of subsidy eligibility for the next year in which an athlete participates in SSCV’s programming. To regain eligibility for Eagle County or Colorado subsidies, the family must complete their required points during their year of subsidy suspension.
The work and dedication of our volunteers in all areas is essential to SSCV’s ability to offer quality programming at the most affordable cost possible. Ski & Snowboard Club Vail cannot exist without the incredible support and dedication of all our members and friends.
Non-Profit Cost (Non-Subsidized)
The non-subsidized fee represents the actual non-profit cost of providing each respective SSCV program. This fee is available to any SSCV participant, without restriction.
