Alfredo J. Velasco was born in Chicago, grew up in Mexico and went to Minturn Middle School for 8th grade. After freshman and sophomore years at the former Battle Mountain High School, he finished at VSSA with the Snowboarding program in 2009. Currently a sophomore at Dartmouth College, Alfredo is taking courses to fill the requirements of a major in Product Design, which combines engineering and fine arts. At Dartmouth Alfredo has taken advantage of the student wood shop to build guitars as his main hobby and has been playing the instrument a fair amount.
