Minturn Fitness Center Projected to Open its Doors on August 11th!
Offering Unique Opportunities to All SSCV Families and the community.
The many hundreds of hours of planning and collaboration in an unprecedented partnership between Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) and the Town of Minturn, and the efforts of RKD Architects, Newell Engineering, general contractor Viele Construction and its many subcontractors and the support of our generous donors are about to come to fruition as the Minturn Fitness Center (MFC) readies to open its doors with a projected soft opening of August 11. About the Minturn Fitness Center and it Offerings
The Town of Minturn and SSCV each contributed 1.25 million dollars towards the construction of the Minturn Fitness Center. A separate non-profit has been established and is governed by a Board made up of equal representatives from the Town of Minturn and SSCV. Upon opening, SSCV is responsible for its operation and programs.
This 8,500 square foot human performance center located at the Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy campus in Minturn presents the latest training methods, knowledge, coaching and equipment for SSCV’s snowsports athletes and the community-at-large. We hope that includes you and your family!
In addition to state-of-the-art cardio equipment, the facility will include standard and specialized strength training equipment such as pneumatic resistance machines, free weights, pulley machines and Olympic lifting areas. A performance laboratory will allow trainers to evaluate fitness for individualized training programs and study human performance.
SSCV has partnered with the Vail Athletic Club to provide trained professional staff to supplement SSCV human performance staff in providing state of the art general fitness support to all members, as well as, lead classes and provide personal training opportunities.
A variety of class offerings are available including TRX, Spin, Yoga, Core and Cross-Training. Approximately twenty entry level or “Level 100” class offerings per week are included with membership. More specialized, higher level classes and private and group personal training sessions will also be available at an additional fee.
Special Trial and Introductory Membership Offerings
SSCV Human Performance Director John Cole shared, “All members of the MFC will have the opportunity to experience the same level of strength training and conditioning opportunities that our full-time athletes enjoy.”
A three tiered membership structure provides competitive membership pricing to the public while offering discounts to the Town’s and SSCV’s important partners. The deepest discount is available to Minturn residents or business owners and SSCV families.
“We want to introduce you to the Minturn Fitness Center” continued Cole. “To that end, we are offering everyone a two month membership for the price of one during the “soft opening” period from August 15 through October 15, 2014 to provide you with an opportunity to experience all that the Minturn Fitness Center has to offer. If you enroll for a membership by November 15, 2014, you will receive an introductory 25% off your annual membership fee.”
SSCV Full-Time Athlete Participation
All SSCV full-time athletes receive a membership to the facility as part of their program fees and will have access to the facility with their coach during their designated dryland training times. Members 16 years of age or older may use the facility without adult supervision during all normal operating hours.
Membership Structure and Discounts
The MFC has established a tiered discount structure designed to provide the Town of Minturn’s and SSCV’s closest constituencies with the most significant discounts. Both family and individual membership rates are available via annual, semi-annual and monthly membership plans with no initiation fee.
- Complimentary membership will also be provided to SSCV and VSSA employees for a time frame commensurate with their period/length of employment, an employee benefit designed to attract and retain the best possible staff to work with our athletes and students. Complimentary membership will also be extended to Town of Minturn employees.
- The deepest annual membership discount is provided to Minturn residents or business owners and current SSCV families.
- A mid-tier of discount is available to other Town of Minturn and SSCV constituencies.
- Non-discounted membership is available to the community-at-large.
