Alpine FIS Team | YOB 2003-2007

FIS coaches will design an athlete’s progression based on the focus series in which they will be competing. Training plans will include spring, summer and early season training within a year-round schedule. FIS athletes will follow a yearly conditioning plan designed and overseen by the coaches in cooperation with the Human Performance staff at the Minturn Fitness Center, always with the goal of helping each athlete achieve his or her maximum potential.

Year-Round Programming: Skiing in Colorado typically extends from late October through mid-June. This can allow for approximately 160 days on snow during this period in addition to other on-snow camps offered.

Note: Group training/skiing on Vail Mountain may be restricted to the Golden Peak Competition Arena during the early season until a substantial portion of Vail Mountain opens to the public. As a result, meeting times for Alpine programs may be adjusted during this period.

Regular Season On-Snow Dates: late November through mid-April generally five days per week as calendared

Pre- and Post-Season Prep Periods: SSCV looks to maximize time on snow in Colorado as early as late October through as late as mid-June, depending on available terrain. An additional fee may be accessed.

Conditioning Days: generally five days per week during the prep period and maintenance during the competition period as calendared

Goal setting: developed with coaches during the prep period

Evaluations: mid-season and end-of-season

Technical Services Support: available as an additional option (not included in program fees); click here to learn more.
