Golden Peak Spring Camp 2017

    • Week Day Transportation: By SSCV van to VSSA at 9:45 / VMS transport at 10:00
    Focus:
    • Basic stance and balance, technical fundamentals, basic SL gate drills
    Camp Description:
    • Golden Peak is ours for the 7th annual Spring Camp begun in 2010!
    • Slalom and GS training on our home hill with a twist!  Coaches will look for ways to challenge our athletes with terrain and course setting that is designed to bring the athleticism and fun into the training.  Custom built terrain and additional features will enhance the environment to encourage athletic movement and visual acuity.  We are raising the bar on spring training!  Join the excitement!
    • Training on-snow will be from 6:30-9:40. Vans will be loaded for departure to VSSA at 9:45 and for VMS at 10:00 to be back to class beginning at 10:13 and 10:35 a.m. respectively.
    • This is a unique opportunity for our athletes to get 5 days on snow in a very low cost summer camp environment kicking off the 2017 Prep Period. Athletes will have the opportunity to begin to ski with the coaches they will have next season when moving up.

Mt. Hood Summer Camp 2017
    Dates: Session 1: On snow training days August 1st - August 6th Session 2: On snow training days August 8th - August 13th
    FIS will participate in both Sessions
    U16 can select Session 1 or Session 2 or both Sessions
    • Van Travel:
      • Depart by van at 6:30am from VSSA on July 30th
      • Return van to arrive at VSSA on August 14th by 5pm
      • Van travelers need to bring sleeping bag and pads as we will camp on the way out and the way back
      • Van travel will be available to all age groups
    • Air Travel:

      • Arrive at PDX by 5pm on JULY 31
      • Session 1 Depart after 11am August 7, Session 2 arrive before 3pm August 7
      • Depart after 5pm ON AUGUST 13
      • SSCV camp vans will be used for pick up and drop off
      • Anyone flying may drop gear off at VSSA on July 29th at 6pm or the morning of July 30th before the van departs at 6:30am
      • NOTE: No bikes this year
    U19 FIS Camp Cost : $2,600 (includes ground transport, food, lodging, lanes, lifts, and coaching). 50% payment due at time of enrollment and the remainder is due by July 28th.
    U16 USSA Camp Cost : $1,400 for Session 1 or Session 2 and $2,600 for both Sessions (includes ground transport, food, lodging, lanes, lifts, and coaching). 50% payment due at time of enrollment and the remainder is due by July 28th.
    Camp Coaches: U19: Fletcher McDonald, Urska Rabic-Bevc, Robert Baker & Andrew Becker U16: Sylvan Kaufman, John Kemp, Kelia Zigich, Mike Fairbrother
    Camp Focus: GS/SL tech training. Focus on fore/aft balance, parallel position, weight transfer, and aggressive tactics in gates.
    Please Bring:
    • All GS and SL gear including dark and light goggle lenses.
    • Tuning supplies: files, file guide with clamp, 400 grit stone, scraper, CH6 wax or Beta, brush, sidewall planer, vices, etc. There will be NO TUNE SHOP on this camp and you will be learning how to tune your skis daily. Coaches will be assisting daily.
    • Sleeping bag and pad if riding in the vans.

YSL Holiday Camp 2017
Hey Kids! Want a little extra training over the holidays? Come out with your friends and train Slalom and GS on Gold Peak in 3 afternoon sessions designed to be fun and educational during your break from school.
    Who:
    • SSCV YSL kids, ages 8-14; Holiday Guests, ages 8-14 (Guests MUST be Level 8 Skier)
    Cost: $180 (additional to regular SSCV YSL Program Fee
    Details:
    • Dates:  December 27-29, 2017
    • Time: Meet at 1:00; pick up at 3:30
    • Where: Meet next to the race building bottom on Golden Peak
    Schedule:
    • 12/29: SL short courses and drills designed to find quickness and agility
    • 12/30: SL progressing to longer courses. Race simulation
    • 12/31: GS training, concluding with two times runs
    Bring:
    • Your ski pass or lift ticket, Slalom gear (for Slalom days), GS gear (for GS days, water bottle with your name on it, snack, and a great attitude ready to have fun
